  • doing many different tasks at the same time with short deadlines (makes it difficult to focus deeply on one thing... maybe i also need to get better at time management)

Interdisciplinary approach means that everything could be useful in principle, so say no to most initiatives is super hard, even when you don't have much time to "waste"

I feel abandoned in this early stage: my supervisors are both very busy. If it's not me asking, I don't get inputs, but even when I ask, answers are mostly vague or skeptical. I need to be navigated in concrete little steps to take from now on.

I don't understand to what extent I am allowed to "think outside the box" in terms of theories and methods. Should I totally stick to the department's expertise and orientation even though my research could be negatively affected?
