There is a critique that too many papers are published in most fields, and that in our time there is an overflow of information. However, as a PhD-student, I'm expected to publish papers, adding to the excessive amount of papers. And also, probably adding just another mediocre paper to the stack.
What am I to do? I don't want to add to the abundance of published papers and the information overflow, however, I have to train myself in writing papers.
